About
Liz McGarry began her study of jewelry in high school and continued to develop her skills while attending Mount Holyoke College. Following a career that included many years in the global financial markets abroad, extensive sailing in the Mediterranean, becoming a certified private pilot and raising two beautiful children, Liz returned to her passion for jewelry design and creation about ten years ago. In addition, she has added silversmithing to her repertoire. With a unique background, and drawing from life's experiences, Liz uses an artistic eye and years of training in the arts to create original and commissioned pieces for a private clientele of discerning women and men.
Artist's Statement
For thousands of years, men and women have sought to demonstrate their unique style through personal adornment. Whether made of seashells and glass, or precious metals and gemstones, jewelry is the mainstay of this tradition. I search for materials which are unusual, intriguing and of the highest quality. The tactile nature of unpolished stone, the richness of high carat gold, the luster of naturally colored pearls or the sparkle of faceted sapphires are used to create pieces that flow along classical lines yet have a contemporary feel.
Working with clients to create pieces of significance for them or their loved ones is my goal. I enjoy sharing and discussing the plethora of options available. Please use my life-long inspiration and this website as a starting point.
